PARIS MÁS ALTERNATIVO | OTHER KIND OF PARIS

Es difícil  no amar Paris, su arquitectura, sus calles, museos,  tiendas, los pequeños bares, la patisserie, los quesos y así podría seguir y seguir. Nunca se termine de descubrir esta cosmopolita ciudad, podría decir que es una auténtica caja de sorpresas. Por eso para aquellos que ya han visitados los “musts” parisinos como Torre Eiffel, Arco de Triunfo, Montmartre, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Río Sena, Concorde, etc, etc vengo con algunas recomendaciones un poco menos turísticas, que he ido descubriendo en los últimos tiempos.

Empezar el día con un buen café y un croissant es fundamental en esta capital europea, debe haber más de 1000 opciones de cafeterías con propuestas todas muy similares, por ese en este caso voy a elegir solo una para no irme infinitamente por las ramas. Café des Anges en Bastille, un típico lugar local con buen café, buena comida, decoración vintage restaurada y una buena conexión a wifi. Creo que como turista y para empezar este es el mejor combo al que se puede aspirar.

Los parisinos después del desayuno van a trabajar, pero si tenés la suerte de estar de vacaciones, podés aprovechar la mañana para hacer algún paseo.

Starting the day with a good coffee and a croissant is essential in this european capital, there must be more than 1000 options of cafeterias with proposals, all very similar, this time I will choose only one to recomend. Café des Anges in Bastille, a typical local place with good coffee, good food, vintage decoration restored and a good connection to wifi. I think as a tourist and to begin with, this is the best combo you can aspire to.


Parisians after breakfast go to work, but if you are lucky enough to be on vacation, you can take advantage of the morning to take a walk.

Sacando los programas típicos que mencioné supra, una divertida idea es recorrer la zona llamada “litle Africa” donde una comunidad africana vive y despliega sus costumbres en las calles. Al ser muy cerca de Sacre Coeur, se puede aprovechar también para recorrer Montmartre y comprar algo de arte, tanto en las calles como en las galerías. Si tenés aún más tiempo y sos amante de los programas al aire libre, una mañana de biking por Bois de Vicenns es imperdible, a la salida no te olvides de visitar el castillo “” que está exactamente a la salida del bosque, y nos muchas personas lo visitan.

Forget about the typical tours I mentioned above, a fun idea is to visit the area called "litle Africa" ​​where an African community lives and displays its customs in the streets. A la hora de almorzar también hay tantas opciones como lugares, y en general la cocina francesa se destaca por su refinamiento y excelencia. Para vivir una típica experiencia gastronómica podes ir al restaurant Maison Blanche, ubicado en la zona de “Haute Couture”. La comida es excelente, empezamos con un aperitivo y recorrimos lentamente la variedad de sabores, fois de gras, gazpacho pescado, pato… Luego de esto mi recomendación es que te quedes dando una vuelta por Ave Montagne donde están todas las tiendas.

The food is excellent, we started with an aperitif and we went slowly through the variety of flavors, fois de gras, gazpacho, fish, duck ... After this, my recommendation is that you stay around Montagne street where all the high end brands are located.

Si el haute Couture no es tu target, o el de tu bolsillo, tenés sin dudas opciones muy interesantes y más económicas por descubrir. Sacando algunos típicos como Br.Haussmann , Bastille, o Les Halles, en Le Marais podés encontrar una zona de diseño muy interesante en la calle Verrier, y sobre Rivoli y sus paralelas es el sueño de los amantes del vintage. Prendas por un euro, prendas al kilo, podés encontrar de todo, pero ir con paciencia para revolver y siempre estar atento a tu cartera.

A la hora de la cena, si estas pensando en un menú un poco más étnico, debo recomendarte un restaurant Thailandés que está rankeado en la guía Michelin y que sin dudas vale la pena. En Silk and Spice fuimos atendidos por Sofía la dueña, con quién tuvimos el placer de compartir el almuerzo y conocer la propuesta más a fondo. Platos con un excelente diseño, hecho como para Instagram, y una decoración que te transporta sin dudas a la cultura asiática probamos un poco de todo….

Probamos una especie de arroyaditos Poh pia, un delicioso Salmón chu chi, platos vegetarianos, helado de albahaca, volcán de chocolate y massss. Nuestra visita fue absolutamente única y especial, tenemos que volverrrr.

In Silk and Spice we were attended by Sofía the owner, with whom we had the pleasure of sharing lunch and getting to know the proposal more thoroughly. Dishes with an excellent design, made it easy for my  Instagram, and a decoration that transports you without doubts to the Asian culture. We try a bit of everything, a kind of spring roll, Poh pia, Salmón chu chi, veggie mix, ice cream, chocolat volcano and more. Our time there was absolutely unique and special, we need to go back.

Como espectáculos fuimos a ver el clásico Lido, que sin dudas te dará un baño de cultura parisina. Efectos especiales, coreografías, trajes increíbles y artistas de primer nivel, hacen de este un espectáculo imperdible para quienes explorar un poco más sobre las raíces de los lugareños, comer rica comida y pasar un buen rato acompañados de una copa de champagne.

A la noche hay miles de opciones, en esta ocasión descubrí dos lugares nuevos interesantes, la calle Lappe, en la zona de la Bastilla tiene boliches y restaurantes donde hay movimiento absolutamente todas las noches. De lunes a domingo, jamás te sentirás solo y el movimiento entre semana dura hasta más o menos las 2 am. Para los fines de semana me parece una opción divertida el Canal St. Martín en la zona de Le Marais. También hay variedad de ofertas, mi preferido fue Comptoirs generales que está decorado con un ambiente selvático y los tragos son muy buenos. Los locatarios también se reúnen a orillas del canal a tomar algo, y es una propuesta divertida si estás para un plan más bohemio y local.

Si tu idea es vivir un poco de glamour, te recomiendo que vayas al bar del Hotel Costes, donde va la mayoría de las celebrities de fashion week. Si el dinero no es un problema para vos, también podes ir a cenar en un ambiente muy agradable, pero la comida realmente no es la gran cosa.

At night there are thousands of options, this time I discovered two interesting new places, the street Lappe, in the area of ​​the Bastille has clubs and restaurants where there is movement absolutely every night. From Monday to Sunday, you will never feel alone and the movement during the week lasts until about 2 am. For the weekends I find the Canal St. Martin in the area of ​​Le Marais a fun option. There are also variety of offers, my favorite was General Comptoirs which is decorated with a jungle environment and the drinks are very good. The tenants also meet on the banks of the canal for a drink, and it's a fun proposition if you're looking for a more bohemian and local plan.

If your idea is to live a little glamor, I recommend you go to the bar of the Hotel Costes, where most of the fashion week celebrities go. If money is not a problem for you, you can also go to dinner in a very nice atmosphere, but the food really is not the big deal.

Como buena gran ciudad que es, en París jamás te aburriras o te sentiras solo, cada vez que pisas la calle millones de posibilidades se abren ante tus ojos y existen muchas personas para interactuar. Asi que dale rienda suelta a tu imaginación y salí a descubrir nuevos piques parisinos.
